About the academy

Why the Academy exists

A voluntary record for practitioners who have completed PHEM

The Academy of Prehospital Practitioners keeps a searchable register for people who have completed a PHEM Level D or Level E course. It gives those completions a clear, formal record that employers and the public can check.

Registration is optional. Practitioners who choose to join can use the matching post-nominal, MAppD or MAppE, for one year at a fee of £4.99.

How the register is run

What the Academy is, and what it is not

The register is kept to one purpose: recording PHEM Level D and Level E completion accurately and transparently.

Voluntary

Optional for every practitioner

Joining the register is a personal choice. Nobody is required to register to practise, and the register does not replace any statutory obligation.

Independent

Run separately from regulators

The Academy is an independent body. It is not a statutory regulator and holds no official or regulator-approved status.

Non-statutory

Focused on course records

The Academy confirms that a PHEM course has been completed at the stated level. It does not assess or guarantee professional competence.
